What to do if the splice is not made?

Probable Cause
1. Yarns incorrectly introduced into the Splicer.
2. Chamber cover does not close.
3. Wrong setting of ends length: too short ends are expelled from the chamber; too long ends are clamped by the chamber cover (only for Aquasplicer).
Remedy
1. Check yarn introduction.
2. Check efficiency of the cover and/or chamber cover spring.
3. Increase/decrease ends length. Check also ends retraction levers and springs.

What to do if the joint is dry and weak (for aquasplicer only)?

Probable Cause
Not enough or no water at all in the mingling chamber (only for Aquasplicer)
Remedy
Check water presence and pressure (between 0,5 and 1 bar) in the connections and that there are no obstructions in the water circuit (obstructions or air bubbles in the hoses). Verify the efficiency of the water valve and its lever. The normal consuption of water is 0,3-0,5 cc per cicle : for verification execute 50 joints and measure the quantity of discahrged water dropping from exhausting hoses.

What to do if the joint splits up due to the slippage of the ends?

Probable Cause
Air pressure too low and/or air blast too short.
Remedy
Restore correct air pressure over 6 bar (minimum 6 bar) and/or increase the air blast in the chamber.

What to do if the joint is thin and weak?

Probable Cause
1. Too short ends overlap.
2. Too high air pressure.
3. Too long junction air blast.
4. Chamber or preparators not suitables.
Remedy
1. Increase ends overlap or decrease ends preparation air blast.
2. Decrease air pressure.
3. Decrease the junction air blast.
4. Try another chamber.

What to do if the joint has visable ends?

Probable Cause
1. Too long ends overlap.
2. Insufficient yarn ends preparation.
Remedy
1. Decrease ends ovelap.
2. Increase ends preparation air blast (or blast time where possible).

How to avoid water leakage?

Probable Cause
1. Damaged cover rubber seal.
2. Damaged cover springs.
3. Faulty water valve.
Remedy
1. Check cover rubber seal.
2. Check the efficiency of the cover springs.
3. Check valve efficiency and the exact position of the seal.

How to avoid improper ends preparation?

Probable Cause
1. Preparators or oscillators with opposit twist compared to yarn (S for Z twist yarns and viceversa).
2. End preparation blast inadequate.
Remedy
1. Replace with proper preparators or oscillators.
2. Adjust ends preparation blast.

What to do if the joint is thick and weak?

Probable Cause
1. Too long ends overlap.
2. Too low air pressure.
3. Splicing blast duration too short.
4. Wrong chamber.
Remedy
1. Decrease ends length or increase preparation blast.
2. Increase air pressure.
3. Increase splicing blast duration.
4. Change the chamber.

What to do if the joint has protruding tails?

Probable Cause
1. Wrong yarn introduction.
2. One preparator (or oscillator) is inefficient.
3. One yarn end is not clamped.
4. Yarn not intercepted by the ends retraction lever.
Remedy
1. Check yarn introduction.
2. Check the parts and change if necessary.

What to do to avoid air leakage in idle position?

Probable Cause
1. Jointair not in idle position.
2. Air coupling not properly connected or damaged.
3. Valve gasket damaged.
4. Dirt or impurities prevent sealed gasket closure.
Remedy
1. Check splicer idle position and winder driving head motor (if automatic).
2. Check and replace.
3. Check and replace.
4. Remove dirt and/or replace gasket and grease with suggested product.

What to do in case of Irregular /excessive cycle repetition?

Probable Cause
1. Excessive torque resistence.
2. Driving motor failure.
3. Improper yarn introduction.
4. Too short overlapping.
Remedy
1. Check and grease main cam, mechanical movements and valve assembly.
2. Check and replace motor.
3. Check movements of winder introduction arms.
4. Increase ends length.

Which are the ideal properties of water supply?

Probable Cause
Remedy
Demineralized water (exspecially in case of intensive splicing) prevents from scale formation which reduce the water valve and gaskets' efficiency and the yarn free movement thus affecting the splicer performance. The water pressure and quanity varies according to the yarn count : coarse counts request higer pressure / quantity of water If not indicated otherwise , it is recmmended a water pressure of 0,5 (for fine counts) and of 0,8 (for coarse counts).

Fault

No splice occurs
